I know it seems like I seem to lean towards pizza pretty often, but I LOVE it… so indulge me!! You will be happy that you did!!
Campania, is a fabulous spot to taste some authentic Tuscan inspired pizza. I say this, because I went to Campania just before I went to Tuscany, and the resemblances were uncanny!! Truly, they focus on super fresh ingredients, Buffalo Mozzarella, and hand made dough. You seemingly cannot go wrong!! And, with the handy location of the Uptown establishment, you are allowed to bring your one beer or wine, and they don’t charge a corking fee (unless you have a group over 6).
For dinner, we usually start with the Basica salad that consists of fresh romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, shredded mozzarella, parmesan and their own light olive oil based salad dressing!! A wonderful start to a yummy meal!! We have also had the San Remo Olive appetizer that include San Remo Olives soaked in olive oil, covered in Italian seasonings… a yummy change of pace!!
Now for the pizza!! My FAVE is the Dama Bianca!! Yes, corn on pizza is YUMMY!! I tried it one time on a whim, and I am so happy that I did!! It has Mozzarella, Olive oil, Fresh Basil, Corn, Ham. It is a wonderful mixture of flavors!! It has no tomato sauce on it, but there are many options here that do. They have some many different mixtures, that you have to go and try something different!! The menu has so many different variations, that you are certain to leave full and happy!!
For dessert, you must try the alla Nutella!! It is dough that is cooked to perfection, covered in Nutella spread (like a peanut butter type spread made from hazelnuts with a chocolaty taste), whipped cream, and dusted with powder sugar! This is a big rich pie, so sharing is a good plan… or not!! Depending on your mood!! J
Oh, random little factoid… they also have a wind range of imported gourmet items for sale on site. These include olives, olive oils, pastas, vinegars, jellies, and sweets!! If you are in search of something different to cook with or put out for a gathering, then you might have to peruse the shelves here as you enjoy your wonderful Tuscan dining experience!!
Until the next Dish is served!
